Bristol top tips for visiting UX professionals!

Hi


I am carrying out a user research project with a colleague from the US in Bristol the week after next. I wonder if anyone could recommend a good central hotel for my colleague to stay at (Near Bristol Temple Meads preferably). I think budget is fairly flexible.


Also any other top tips - good restaurants, where not to go - would all be useful!


Although I am a local - I am a rural local so not that up on Bristol…

User Experience/Usability as remote workers

Recently I have been experimenting with trying to get remote roles as a User Experience/Usability person. With my current family commitments the flexibility works and I am really enjoying it.


I think UX works really well as an outsourced function. You can cut through the politics of an organisation as an outsider. You come in as a fresh pair of eyes. You aren't too attached to the history of a product. The tools available for remote collaboration are good and getting…

Introducing myself

Hi All



I'm an Interaction Designer/Usability Engineer who is hoping to do some consulting in the Bristol area.



My former roles have been working for large companies (Oracle - as part of the JDeveloper IDE team, Nortel - Network Management software).
