Bath-based startup software company is hiring for a Lead UX & UI Designer to help advance a web application that helps teams find the right files quickly and easily, using organisational tools and machine learning. This tool is positioned to become a key part of knowledge workers’ workflow, so a high degree of usability is paramount.

We’re an innovative software business with ambition, applying novel AI and machine learning techniques to proactively collate large document stores in readily usable ways.

We’re about empowerment and ownership, where product design isn't a top down process; everyone's ideas and designs are collected to inform the product roadmap.

Backed by our Product Owner and Product Architect, we need you to take a holistic view – research, architecture, design and implementation - across all points where a user may experience our product, its documentation and the website. You will define and lead the UX function, working as a voice for the customer to help us shape products that are beautiful and a joy to use.

Above all, we're looking for someone who wants to help us create really usable software that has a high impact.

About you

  • You have strong user empathy and you're passionate about great user experience

  • You're skilled in the interaction design of web and mobile apps

  • You're excited at the challenge of leading the UI design and user experience of a rapidly evolving application

  • You can achieve best practice in UX and IXD, using the right methods and tools

  • You may not consider yourself a Visual Designer, but can influence the aesthetic process, and you're competent with wireframing, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Invision, et al

  • You may have skills in HTML, CSS, RWD, JavaScript or other web technology and want to strengthen them

  • You're analytical – competent at interpreting data and other measures

  • You're also resourceful, collaborative and comfortable with important deliverables

  • You may be considering Senior or Lead UX jobs in Bath such as: User Experience Designer | UX Designer | Information Architect | User Experience  | User Interface Designer | UI Designer | Interaction Designer etc.

Salary and benefits

  • £35,000 - £50,000+ negotiable

  • Flexible working practices | 22 days paid holiday + bank holidays | potential stock
