Hi - I lectured on the OU  interaction design course when it first started - it is quite a broad course with a lot of design methods and evaluation methods. It is not at all specialised in web related design or even digital related design. It is more directed at the design and evaluation of interactive systems in the broadest sense. It would be useful but I feel that it would have to be augmented with something else if your goal was getting a grounding in user experience design. Not sure about the other two but if you have a bunch of links to UX type courses I'd be interested in seeing them. There used to be an annual publication on art and design courses in the UK - published by Trotman - but I can't find it on their site so maybe they stopped. The course I'm lecturing at the moment is pretty good (Electronic Publishing Masters at City University) don't be put off by the name, they have such a good reputation that they don't want to change it! It covers all the ingredients you need for UX design (data, programming, visual design, etc.) and the focus is on digital systems, but again it's not specialised on UX even though you do come out with enough of what you need. Hope that's useful.

I'm not sure how relevant it is to you, Dan, but I noticed that Stanford now offer a free 5-week online HCI course:

Looks interesting!

Hi Stuart

Have you signed up to the course starting on 24th of September? Or the one that was run earlier in the year? I am going to start on the 24th of September course and if you are also starting then do you fancy meeting up during the course and chatting course work?

Hi Dan,

Yes, I've registered on the course that starts on the 24th Sept.

It would be great to meet up during the course to talk things through.
