UX/UI Designer/Developer Job Spec

Main Purpose

Grofar are looking for a great candidate to take ownership of the UI & UX design of a new software product. The candidate will shape processes and be an integral part of the development strategy.

The successful candidate will take on the following responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the front end of Grofar’s web and mobile applications harnessing the latest frameworks and technologies. 
  • Deliver engaging software for different end users and facilitate integration with a variety of social media applications. 
  • Lead user engagement & testing projects to identify and improve the UX experience and iterate through improvement cycles using data driven evidence. 
  • Join a dynamic development team to deliver high quality applications within an agile development process with exposure to the full product development lifecycle.

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, £25,000 to £35,000, based on experience
  • 25 days’ holiday

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates require the following:

  • Impressive portfolio of prototypes, ideas, final designs and sketches across a range of platforms.
  • Relevant experience of UX design techniques and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience of front end UI development and implementation. (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery).
  • Experience designing and developing mobile applications.

Exposure to the following would be beneficial:

  • Exposure to Microsoft technologies (C#, MVC.NET).
  • Experience using application frameworks. (Bootstrap, Angular).
  • Exposure to Mobile Application development techniques and frameworks (Cordova, PhoneGap, Xamarin)
  • Social media integrations and new technology trends.
  • Working in small entrepreneurial teams where use of initiative and decision making ability is important.

All candidates must hold a full UK driving license and valid visa requirements to work in the UK where applicable. Ideally, they would also live within 30 miles of Bristol.

  • A methodical and analytical worker with strong problem solving skills and an ability to use good judgment in determining and implementing the best solutions.
  • A strong communicator who is able to interpret product requirements and deliver high quality code.
  • Demonstrable data driven approach.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Personable character able to liaise with stakeholders and end users.
